What are camps?

Hyperwknd camps are multi-day songwriting intensives designed to build community, educate and inspire up-and-coming creatives, and produce amazing music. As is standard in the music industry, our songwriting camps are carefully curated to result in commercially viable songs that are then pitched for artist placement and/or sync opportunities, but where Hyperwknd stands apart is in our commitment to further resourcing our network.

In addition to the actual sessions, Hyperwknd camps offer real-world insights through group mentorship sessions with music industry professionals (hit producers, entertainment lawyers, publishing A&Rs, etc.) as well as workshops dedicated to mental and physical wellbeing (i.e. yoga, mindfulness sessions, vocal instruction). Because Hyperwknd serves a community that has traditionally been under-resourced and underrepresented, we aim to supply creatives with all the tools they need to develop and showcase their talent.

While our camps might provide many attendees with their first pitch opportunities or introductions to music publishers, they are for up-and-coming and established creatives alike. Our community includes Grammy winners and nominees, international touring musicians, and signed artists.

Camps Wrapped

Camps Wrapped

A look back at the collaborators, mentors, and moments that shaped each Hyperwknd camp.

1

Seeker Music invited creatives to share their space and interpolate their catalog for pitch. Output hosted a networking happy hour at their offices and provided plugins. Guest mentors were A&Rs Jessica Thomas and Caroline Carlson. Native Instruments donated plugins.

2

At Moosecat Studios, campers targeted sessions toward sync catalog building. Maison Arts A&R Arielle Tindel shared insights on music publishing, Julian Drucker discussed music supervision, and Infrasonic Sound’s mastering engineer RaeLynn Janicke gave studio tips. Hooktheory supported.

3

Hit songwriter/producer Justin Gammella shared his vocal chain and advice on how to make a living as a music producer, and music lawyer Jared Shababb, Esq. shared their expertise on the legal side of the music business with campers. Campers wrote to sync briefs from music supervisors. Supported by Highnote.

4

At Hyperwknd’s first virtual and international camp, produced with Kar Records, campers networked and collaborated with queer creatives overseas. Supported by Fender Studio. 30 creatives, 3 days, 15 songs made.

5

At Ableton Spaces, campers recieved a demo of the Ableton Move by the Ableton team, met with mentor David Streit (BMI), and worked on new interface setups supplied by PreSonus. David shared his knowledge on publishing and PRO’s. Each session group focused on making songs for the artists in the room. 15 incredible songs made.
